Feeling sick right now

Hey guys!

So yea... Basically right now I feel like hurling, no idea why. So after school, I met Rizal and went to buy his PSP before going to ABC Market to have brunch, I had porridge, and guess what! I saw sissy!!! LOL!!!

So after eating, I bought one more bowl of porridge to bring home then Rizal and I walked towards my home initially going with me to take my stuff before walking to the train station. But Fizah isn't feeling well so Rizal went off first. Which leads to Fizah, get well soon :)

I went home, eat my porridge, check some stuff, then went to Tiong Bahru to return my stuff and buy the Enloop batteries. I came home and basically just watched shows all day long while charging many stuff throughout the day.

So tomorrow going down to Sentosa for the Beach Fiesta, than going back to Vivo to watch Hachiko with Justina. I have a feeling I'm gonna cry. I watch Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past just now and I cried a little. Tomorrow also getting my filters book! Guess that's all. Gotta sleep now, waking up early tomorrow. Good night everyone!

Super tired

Hey guys!

So yea, I was tired yesterday hence didn't update. Nothing much though, now in programming. After school slacked and met Aryani to accompany her for her interview that's all. I still can't get the iPad out of my mind, it seems like a nifty piece of gear to have. Watching Hachiko this Sat with Justina at Vivo and though it's a little late. Congrats to Justina on getting to the course of her choice!!!

So yea... I've got to buy Enloop batteries and THANK YOU SANYO!!! Can use my GP charger so no need to carry and buy another battery charger.

A quick update, the story is currently clocked at 14,143 words!!! Another update is, most likely I'm getting the 16GB iPad and a slight chance of the 32GB iPad.

Nothing more to add so shall blog tonight. See you!!!

Officially resigned!

Alright guys!

I'm in school now blogging cause last night I was too tired and now in computing maths dying of boredom.

So yesterday in school had networking theory and life skills. Needless to say... They were boring as hell, lol. So after school I went home and helped my sister to choose courses for her appeal in poly and chose 2 courses in Nanyang Poly and 1 in Temasek Poly. I hope she gets into TP.

So yea, yesterday was my final day at work and I have officially resigned! I'm not jobless as I still have my growing freelance photography work and my job as partner with Vivian, XD. My pay came in as well.

Now in computing maths and the teacher is writing and he doesn't even seem to care that Yusuf is sleeping behind me and that Rizal is beside me playing my PSP and me reading despite we're right in front of him. What the hell right? I know Rizal agrees with me, because he's reading as I'm typing right now. So I've finally completed reading Portrait Photography: Secrets Of Posing & Lighting by Mark Cleghorn. Aspiring portrait photographers, this is a book I recommend and I have a order of it in my Amazon cart now. I'm still looking for another few books and all one shot ship over. Reason why I ship is not cause it's cheaper, it's not very much cheaper, just that I can't find the books in Singapore.

So yea, now that I'm "jobless", I can finally get writing my stuff as well as updating my book list.

Oh ya, Apple released something new today. It seems like an over stuff iPod touch.

TA DAH!!! THE NEW IPAD!!!!

I was telling Yusuf that the name sounds gay because of the word "pad". Can't they have something nicer like "Mega itouch!" or wait! I GOT IT! Since officially, the small one, the original is called iPod touch, why not call this iTouch? At least it doesn't sound gay. No offence to the ladies, I swear I will buy those stuff with my wife, just sounds gay to walk into the Apple store, or in Singapore, Epi Center and say "Hi, I would like to purchase the 64GB iPad". Just sounds sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wrong.

Either way, I might be getting it for "work" in my photography business as well as entertainment at home. Since turning on the Macbook, Mac Mini or my DIY will take too long, why not use this for entertainment on the go in my house? Since the only thing in my house that is portable is the Macbook. And it's heavy if I were using it on my body and fell asleep. And well, the battery can last longer since I use less of it in that case as well, lol. Rizal just commented that my blog entry now is too long so I shall end it here. Besides.... I don't have anything more to say except, I shall be thinking of the iPad and doing my stuff later. Just to add.... I'm seriously considering E-mailing Apple and asking them if they could rename the iPad as iTouch instead. But I guess they don't give a crap about what I think so I guess we're stuck with that name.

See you guys tonight!

A very boring day

Hey guys!

I'm tired, took a shower now more refresh, but this freshness will wear off very quickly so now gonna blog. Today had programming where we did project 1 and we had computing maths after that which again was boring! Seriously!

So after school, Yusuf, Rizal and I took the same bus but Rizal and I dropped at Jurong to go to the library to borrow books. I ended up borrowing Wide Angle National Geographic, Master lighting guide or something like that and scanning negatives. Yea... I've gotta streamline my book list and update it as well. So after that we went and chill at Cafe Galilee for about half an hour while Rizal completes his virus scan and doing his programming and we bought some milk shake. Cookies and cream milkshake and it costs 5 bucks. OMG!

Anyway we left for home and I met my old school mate. And he kept telling me this girl on the train near us was hot, looking at her makes me wanna hurl. So yea, I came home and pretty much just watch TV and youtube.

Story update... I'm now, as of this moment, clocked at around 13600 words so yup. More or less close to the ending. After which I will have to re read the entire story to have consistency and accuracy.

Tomorrow having 4 hours of networking theory, lucky got books to keep me company. I still have yet to update my book list and do my Mac Pro system design. Might do it tomorrow. Tomorrow will be my final day of work (I hope) and will be quitting. Taking resignation form tomorrow. Gonna concentrate on photography business and school work.

Shall end with 2 photos. Good night world!

Rotting not in hell, but in school....

Hey guys....

So yea, right now rotting in school and last night I was too tired to blog so am doing now, nothing much to blog anyway so yea.

So yesterday went to school for PE and basically just watched Yusuf and Rizal play table tennis after which we had networking where we have to do assignment and I didn't know how to do,basically I stone for 3 hours not doing anything because I didn't know how to freaking do anything. Which is the fault of the teacher because he can't teach well. Don't come telling me it's not the teachers' fault by my fault, for those who know me recently, they would have known how I study now so I rest my case.

End up after school, Rizal and I went to Queensway shopping center to check out the price for PSP since Rizal wants to replace his lost PSP. After that we ate at Mac for lunch and we took a bus to my place to print out some form for Rizal. After that we went to the library to borrow books and Mac again so he could teach me how to do the assignment for networking. Turns out it was very easy. After that I basically went home and slack most of the day away.

Update on my story, it is currently clocked at almost 13k words and almost at the end. I honestly hope it will be a good story to read. Once I'm done with it will be reading it through again to make changes and to confirm a smooth continuous story.

See you guys tonight! Hopefully I'd come up with the specs for the Core i5 and Quad Core Mac Pro along with its estimated cost. Hopefully I can write my stuff, finish the design, read a little bit more of my photography book and update my photography book list. Which by the way, needs to be refine so I don't end up having hundreds upon hundreds of books since my intention is to have a mini library which consists of photography books which helped me learn and hopefully help me teach and refer back when I need to. I'm also quitting my job at GV(not gonna elaborate here) and hopefully I get to teach the photography club students in Queensway.

Dead inside out

Hey guys!

So yea... I'm dead inside out more or less cause nothing to do and I barely made through the day... Really... So yea, this morning I met my dear secondary school friend Aryani and she is as crazy as usual so no surprise there and we had breakfast at Macdonalds at Tea Garden located near Queensway Secondary School. That sure brings back memories... Been a long time since I last went there.

Anyways! After that I came home and basically slacked throughout most of the day watching shows, taking a few shots, doing a little bit more on the story. So yea, that's about all I did today so I guess shall end here today. Tomorrow got PE and Networking and most likely programming which I'm more or less sure to die of boredom! So here's two pictures to share today. Good night world!

2 days of entry

Hey guys!

So yea, basically I've been so tired I couldn't really make myself blog yesterday but long story cut short, went to school, slack during programming, met sissy for lunch, fell asleep on the floor and slack the rest of the day away. OH! And went for porridge at ABC Market with mother.

Today was pretty much the same thing just slacking at home and yea. Tomorrow my family is going to Malacca for the day except me as I'm not a huge fan of traveling so yea.... Nothing much to type today and I've got a few things to do. Most importantly which I will be doing throughout the whole of next week is coming up with the specs for the Core i5 Mac Pro and the Quad Core Mac Pro and pitting price and usability between the 2. And wondering if I should install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit to take advantage of 8GB of RAM. But not very practical as many programs are still 32 bit which can only max out 4GB of RAM. The Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is 64 bit ready though... With a few of its built in programs already running 64 bit. Aperture, photoshop and lightroom will certainly benefit in the Mac, but in the Windows more or less no difference... Ah well! I guess will decide next week. After all, it is customized personally so I can always add more should I need or want or can afford more.

Good night world!!

Randomness

Hey guys!!

Alright! Lets start with what happened in school today! Today went to school for Networking first and.... I did.... wait for it..... NOTHING!!! I know... I'm being lame , but as I've said many times, I have no idea what to do in networking so good riddance to that! And after that was maths which again I spent by day dreaming and talking to my friend aka my sissy/sis Jia Zhen, haha!

So yea, I came home and basically rotted the day away with many random thoughts coming to my mind and I fell asleep for a short while in the afternoon AND it so happens that the postman "decides" to come at that exact period when I was sleeping and so therefore can't accept my sister's parcel.

I seriously have no idea how many boxes came for my sister already...

Anyway! Tomorrow meeting sissy for lunch and having programming in the morning and C++ in the afternoon. And might be meeting Krist and Mark while they discuss about some business things while I just listen, pitch in whenever possible and come up with items for the four thirds community for the rest of the year which is pretty tough. So far it has been as follow:

Jan - Hands on on micro four thirds and various lenses (half successful)
Feb - Currently planning Chingay shoot
March to dec - NIL

Sad right? Gonna be tough since its like, some things might just pop up like "The new Olympus E-5 is out!" or "The revolutionary PEN has again made a revolution with the all new PEN E-P3!" so yea... Either way, Krist and I will still work hard to plan.

I had a sudden urge to fight this afternoon on my way to Queensway and now have a sudden urge to teach photography in Queensway. I miss the chicken... And I realize that I actually quite close with Queensway. Gotta find a day to go down with Vivian to chat with the new principal about future "businesses".

I just realize that I forgot to write an entry for Tuesday and I forgot what happened other than me going down to see Melanie at ION Orchard and seeing Justina there, haha! And I seem to use "I just realize" very often haha!

Anyway... this year 2010, I hope to actually accomplish a few things, one thing is definitely be a better photographer doing more assignments. Can't wait to get my Macbook as well!!!

Oh ya!! I just found out today that Intel recently released a new kind of processor called i3. What's that? If you know about Celeron, Centrino, Pentium, it's something like that but basically now in order it's core 2 duo, quad core, i3, i5 and i7. So right now... I'm actually thinking of re-doing my DIY Mac Pro. The core i5 and i7 have a technology known as Turbo boost which seems to come pretty useful so will see the cost. If having a i5 is not very much more than my current DIY Mac Pro specs, might change, if it is, then I'm gonna just stick with my current spec list which will last me well into at least my final year in poly. Before the big change for my Macbook and DIY Mac Pro.

One thing I hope is that this year will be a good year for me. Life has been ok to me in recent time... But if possible, I would want it to be better, but if it can't be improved, I'd like for it to stay on this way.

I'm still wondering what to do about a little problem I have but I guess no point continuing to ponder over it. I also hope to finish writing the story I started last year in March (I know... It's long ago) and once it's done, shall post a link to download it here though I'm not sure who actually reads my blog and I sometimes feel that I'm talking to myself but whatever XD. I'm tired now so shall be on my way to bed. Good night world!

I'm Back!!!

Hey guys!

Alright, I didn't travel but rather, I'm back in the pink of health! Almost. I keep having stomach ache but shall not touch on that. I don't have pain nor do I have lack of appetite. So yea, yesterday didn't do much. Went to school and had programming which I spent stoning in pain and maths didn't listen cause the teacher's teaching is crap! I mean it, since the beginning of term, I've been listening in class until this teacher came and all my attention flew out the door. After school came home and basically slack the rest of the day and in a way, recovering.

So today! I went to school thinking "Oh my God.... 4 hours of networking theory.... die...." turns out I was there for like an hour before my class as well as another class were "kicked" into lecture theater 2 for a talk about "Making Money Online" and I'm thinking.... What am I studying in school? IT right? Stands for Information Technology right? So why are we listening to a talk that seems more or less to be related to business? So either way... the talk lasted till 12 and we went for brunch. At 1 we went for Life Skills and usually, it would be like "Hey lets go for life skills!" and now its like "Hey... you want to go life skills a not?". We went and all she did was tell us our marks for God knows what project and "see you next week class!". I looked at my watch and it says "1:30pm" and yes!!! Indeed, half an hour lesson!!! What the hell!!!

So I took the bus with Yusuf with Jurong Point to look for some stuff before coming home and basically just slacked most of the day away as I've pretty much nothing to do up till now.

And right now using my Mac mini, I'm thinking...." Wow! Mac is seriously nicer to use!". But seriously people... Not everyone but some.... Friends of mine or not, think about it, why spend S$1588 for a Macbook white? Cause it looks good? People say its good? Come on... give me a break... Think about your needs first. Do you need the stability of Macs? Do you need the power that a Mac has to offer? Let me ask you something, do you mainly surf the web? Chat on MSN? Listen to music? Watch movies? If you answer yes to all 4, sorry... Please go buy something like ASUS EE PC, they cost like 600 odd. Save your money for something more important. If you're a photographer, graphics artist, designer... Go ahead! Buy a Mac! I support! But if you're the former group and you still wanna buy a Mac... I have nothing more to say. Firstly, one complain for Mac is "NOT ENOUGH FREAKING SOFTWARES!!!" minus the freaking part. Second is what people say about Mac "Cannot get virus one...". Right..... If I do know how to write viruses.... I'd write one specially for Mac.... But I don't know how and THERE ARE viruses made for Mac... Just very little as compared to Windows based one.

I'm very happy with my Mac now actually, despite little software, problems are self solved so what the heck. I mainly listening to music, chat on MSN, surf the net and watch movies. BUT! I also do photography semi professionally, so yea.... It justifies a Mac Mini, not a Mac Pro though. But I'm building one so what the heck!

Anyway... No offense to anyone, I just suddenly felt like saying that so just let me rant alright? Anyway!!! Getting a little tired so shall end here tonight. Good night world!

Not so good

Hey guys!

So yea, I didn't update yesterday cause I was suffering from either food poisoning or gastric flu. Feeling much better now though am still in pain. So yesterday I basically either slept or watched TV.

That's was pretty much it. At night I finish editing the pictures for Queensway as well as watching Ben 10 Alien force season 3 episode 14.

Thinking of my Macbook, about 3 to 4 more months. Hope my Macbook will be 4GB RAM as well as 500GB hard disk space. This Macbook is faster than the old one I saw. It was initially 2GHz and now it's 2.26GHz. Seriously can't wait to change my laptop.

More updates tonight!

Super quick entry

Hey guys....

I'm really tired so a summary of my day. I went back to QSS to shoot sec 1 CCA recruitment drive. After that I went to shoot a little of Queenstown area before going to the library to borrow books.

That's all for my day, just edited slightly under half of my total pictures, shot about 100 odd, nothing spectacular actually. Yup, really tired so good night everyone!

Quick Entry!

Hey guys!

Still tired as hell but basically I completed my assignment 2 in school and kinda surprising that I'm more or less the only person who completed it. So after school Rizal and I left everyone, he goes home and I went to Marina Square, Suntec City, Parkway Parade as well as Funan to look for my stuff.

I came home and ate and basically did nothing but watched Gundam and fell asleep, lol.

Tomorrow's plan would be to shoot CCA recruitment. After which I will shoot around Queenstown for awhile before going to the library to borrow a book and head home to edit the pictures which will probably take the remaining of the day. So that I can burn and pass the CD next week and meet Justina for lunch and hopefully go look for stuff, lol.

So yea, I gotta sleep now! Tomorrow my bag has E-P1,E-3,Metz 45 CL1,Olympus FL-50r,14-54,50-200 and 7-14,17mm lens and MMF1 also in it along with my VA-1. Gonna be interesting to shoot with Metz for the first time in an actual shoot!

Good night everyone!!!

Tired beyond all reason...

Hey guys.

So today had networking and we did practical assignment 4 as well as computing maths. The teacher is really "good". And "good" means writing answer and not explaining how to get that. After school had lunch with Yusuf, Madinah and Naazira and then I left for Vivo myself and seriously, I spent less than half an hour there before going home. Tomorrow going to Suntec, Marina Square and Marine Parade, each place also less than half an hour before moving on.

So yea, I came home and pretty much slacked until I went to Toa Payoh to meet the guy who sold me the Metz flash to fix my cable using epoxy glue, lol. So yea, it's kinda drying now. Ordered a cable from USA already, if it works, might buy another as another spare. Use 1 3rd party as main, 1 original and 1 more 3rd party as backup.

Tomorrow programming. Gotta pack my bag such that it's slimmer so that I can take the bus to Marine Parade tomorrow.

That's all for today actually. I'm very very tired and also kinda sick from having something missing in my life. Yet to find out the cause though but ah well...

Good night everyone!

Something Missing

Hey guys!

Here's another quite update while my E-P1 is updating it's firmware. Today went to school and I was seriously rotting with nothing to do. And well... Life skills is seriously boring since the teacher changed. And work wasn't very fun either... And so yea, right now I'm updating my lens to firmware 1.1 and my E-P1 to firmware 1.2, from what a lot of people are saying, the improvement in focusing is significant. I sure do hope so! Anyway, I'm signing off for the night, got to get my sister to help me order a replacement PC sync cord for my flash and sleep for school tomorrow. I seriously feel there's something missing in my life. I wonder what that is... Ah well... Shall post my experience for the new firmware tomorrow.

Good night everyone! Pleasant dreams!

So tired

Hey guys!

Quick update as I'm tired. Today school was programming and maths, programming almost done, maths finished in half an hour have to wait about another 1 than can go off. I went home to change and left for Plaza Singapura and went to get my PC Sync to hot shoe convertor. My wire is a little damaged but still usable. The guy who sold me the flash gonna help me repair, and I'm gonna get another one as spare in case.

That's about it actually. I tried to complete my programming, played a little bit of bully. That's about it so yup.
Good night everyone!

What a long day

Alright guys!

So today, I had networking and my class advisor talked to me for about an hour and a half about my studies which was super boring because I already knew what he wanted to say. And I finally watched finish Ben 10 Alien Force episode 13! So basically did programming, came home and ate and played Bully. Tomorrow will be going to Plaza Singapura to search for the stuff and walking down to City Hall to look for the trigger. Hopefully I can find one.

So yea, I finished with pasting the velcro on my bounce card and added a strip at the bottom cause it's kinda too short. It looks ok, I've super glued it so now leaving it to set. Hopefully it'll be good for using. That's all for today and yup, I'm off to bed. Good night everyone!

Another late post,lol

Hey guys!

In school now doing programming. So quick update on yesterday. I went out to meet Krist yesterday morning to pass him the charger for the E-P2 which Olympus loaned without a battery charger (-_-||) and lend him my OM 135mm f3.5 for his test. I went to Bras Basah to Art friends to get some foam paper, as well as search for something at Bras Basah, Kinokuniya at Liang Court and AnBC Stationary at Bugis.

I came home and played Bully which more or less concludes my day. At night I built the "A Better Bounce Card" which isn't complete because I need to put velcro which should be done tonight. It works good. Shall post some pictures soon!

Have a good day and see you tonight!

Problematic Computer

Hey guys!

So yea... I went over to Roysten's house and was there for like 5 over hours trying to fix his computer which ended up I think his hard disk is screwed up that's why it's so slow. So yea... I came home and didn't do much, play a little bit more of Bully and I tested the Metz 45 CL1 with my Zuiko Digital 7-14 in portrait orientation. Dumb move... I ended up blasting myself in the left eye so yea... Never gonna do that without a bounce card... Ever... So I'm signing off now to look for a DIY bounce card for the Metz... Good night everyone!

First kopi session of the year

Hey guys!

So yea... I'm blogging now cause I was so tired last night when I wanted to blog on my laptop that I fell asleep on the floor XD. Not the first time either so anyway... Yesterday had programming in the morning and seriously, I felt like I didn't do much... Why? You may ask, I just did a "do until password = "student" and "Loop" and poof... There goes my Lab 8 which is completed. And that was within the first hour, after that I basically was surfing online... I didn't know why I don't feel like programming but oh well...

So after school I went over to Tiong Bahru to give my answer to the shop assistant about my enquires before going home. I came home to do my programming(I do my homework now alright? Not like when I was younger XD) using extended desktop again cause apparently... It's troublesome to flip between Visual Basic and Microsoft Words. After doing like 1/4 of the coding... I kinda gave up more to the fact that I'm lazy hahaha.

I left home at about 5:55 to meet a guy to get my Metz flash and it is huge... Seriously big! Kinda scary but well... Took some test shot last night and it bounced just as well as my FL 50R and it feels more solid. Sadly... It works only with cameras with PC sync sockets... Luckily it has convertors so basically... It works with all my digital SLRs and my PEN as well as all my old film SLRs. But it's kind weird to shoot it with the PEN EE2 or the Pen E-P1, the rest are still alright.

So after meeting and a super crash course on how to use the flash which was basically VERY easy to use if you know how a flash works, but I have no idea why the manual makes it look so complicated. I went for the kopi session at TCC Funan. They asked how many people and I told them 20 and the guy was a little blur but well... They had really good service but I ended up sitting by myself for about 15 minutes... Anyway... Slowly, bit by bit, people came up until everyone was there. Total strength was like 22? Give and take a little and the regular guys were only like... 5 with 1 more of the old guys, namely myself, Mark (Marky), Jimmo (Mojims), Ben (Benares), Krist (Headfonz) and Aryanto (Aryanto). The rest are basically like new guys all ask many questions about the m4/3 which is a good sign that it's growing.

So yea... After the session there was supposed to be a shoot as requested... But quite a number of people went home leaving only myself, Jimmo, Mark, Krist and his friend. Mark drove us to Clarke Quay where we shoot for about an hour since there's nothing much to shoot there. Mark gave Jimmo and myself a ride home leaving Kirst and his friend to shoot cause he was teaching his friend.

And to add... I was using the Olympus Pen E-P2 and well... Lets just say it's a slightly taller E-P1 in black metal with an extra port for EVF(Electronic View Finder) or external microphone. I can say that for that 1 hour I was using it. The EVF is pretty good. It doesn't give me a dizzy spell like the Panasonic compact line with EVFs. I haven't tried the GF1 but the G1 and GH1 were ok but a little bit small as far as I can remember. But basically, other than the 2 art filters Diorama and Cross Process. Along with the port, it is essentially an E-P1. So if one doesn't shoot much videos, just got with the E-P1 even though it doesn't have the EVF. When I replace my E-P1 when it breaks down, I guess I will hardly use the EVF anyway.

So that's all for now... I gotta go to my secondary school friend Roysten's house to check his computer which has been giving him problems. Shall update more tonight. Good day to all!

Day before kopi session

Hey guys!

Here's another entry... So yea... today had network security which was very very boring because I didn't understand anything and maths which was pretty boring and a maths question was very unclear... And my classmate Yi An was sleeping and he was snoring so loudly which was distracting me in class... I don't mind if holiday and I'm sharing the room with him... But I do mind in class as I want to study maths!

So after school Rizal and I went to Clementi and ate Long John Silver before we left for home. I came home, showered and rest before going down to Golden Village and helping my lao ma set her laptop. Don't know what the effing hell did LG service center do with her laptop, all my settings are gone... So I had to install the software to convert the language to chinese, install QQ messenger (for those who don't know what it is, it's PRC's verison of MSN), mobile broadband, a chinese version of Mozilla Firefox and AVG.

So after I was done, I came home and I had to move 3 beds! My mum's new bed up to my flat, my sister bed out,my mum's bed into my sister's room and the new bed into my mum's room before throwing everything down. It sure is pretty tiring.

So tomorrow will be a pretty long day... Got programming in school till 11, than not going for C++ programming training... Going down to Great World City, then Bugis and finally Tiong Bahru. After that it's off to home to rest before meeting the guy to get my Metz 45 CL1, and than go for my kopi session. I hope it will go smoothly. So tomorrow might be shooting with my new flash and my E-3, carrying with me 50-200, E-P1 with 17 pancake,14-54 and 50mm macro. Hopefully Sean will bring my 7-14 back tomorrow XD. So yea, that's all for tonight, will update more tomorrow!

Good night everyone!!!

Late entry

Hey guys!

So yea... I'm currently in school now, blogging about yesterday as I was too tired and busy talking to blog yesterday, lol.

Anyway, so we had 1 hour of waiting and 1 hour of Networking test yesterday after which was lunch where Rizal and I decided to skip life skills which apparently I heard just today that it is seriously boring. So we went to Marina and watched Sherlock Holmes. It was a pretty good movie, the way Robert Downdy Jr portrayed Sherlock Holmes was pretty cool, and this Sherlock Holmes is way cooler than the original.

So after that we walked around looking for a present but can't find any. So we left and I went home to eat my lunch and took a shower before going to work. I had to do candy bar and well... There wasn't a lot of people so it was alright.

I came home and chatted with Melanie for a while before helping her edit a photo for a passport size photo. I also met Hilwah and Justina online for the first time, lol. Nice kids... Again I sound old... What the heck...

Shall update about my day tonight so good day everyone!!!

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Second day of school

Hey guys!

So today in school we did programming and computing maths which was a little boring but manageable. After school I took the train with Naazira and got off at Bugis to meet Melanie. We went and had lunch, shop at Bugis and then went to Marine Parade cause she had a briefing. I sat outside the library waiting for her. After that we went back to somewhere at Selegie Road to have beancurd, soya bean milk and you tiao. After that we went home and we part ways at Queenstown.

I came home and basically slacked through most of the night chatting with my mentor Clifford. He is seriously a great man. This friday will be the day I get my flash and the day I host the first kopi session for the year. Hope I don't screw up. Sit down and drink and chat till 9 or 9:30 before we will go off for a shoot afterwhich we will head home.

That's about it for today so good night everyone!

Nothing Much...

Alright guys guess what!

I didn't go out again!!! Now there's a shocker... I didn't have anywhere to go so I didn't go out except to my lift lobby to take some pictures which sucked so I deleted all of them. It sucked cause the weather isn't in my favor..

So what did I do today... Watched my downloaded Gundam which is so much clearer. Talked to Chong Min and helped recommend some cameras for her. Took photos and basically just rot at home. That's all I did today seriously.

Tomorrow school is starting, meeting Melanie on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. And I'm gonna go for her art gallery thing that she volunteered to do. It's at Ion Orchard and for those who know me well will know that it is a very rare thing to see me at Orchard... Why? You may ask. Simply because I don't like going there due to the fact that there is a lot of people.

One more thing is on my mind today... Why is it that some people are so particular about "Made In China" products? Seriously, what's the big deal, as long as quality control is present, doesn't matter where its made...

Tomorrow got programming training which is seriously gonna suck big time... So tomorrow shall confirm the parts for my DIY Mac Pro and will be 4 days to my flash arrives... Hope there is a cable to attach to the hotshoe of cameras cause I seriously dislike plugging in PC sync cords. 4 days to the first kopi session I'm hosting and 6 days till I get my filter book. Got to seriously minimise my list for each field of photography and technicals of photography to 1 book or 2 books depending on how much is covered per book.

That's all for today, will update more tomorrow. Good night everyone!!!

School is starting...

Hey guys!!!

Today I didn't do much... I got a new chair, very comfortable and sturdy too... And I was looking at the new Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and well... it's nuts I can say... ISO 104,000!!!

Canon EOS 1D Mark IV

Honestly, it does look good to use but it is super duper heavy... I can carry it no doubt... But I don't fancy having to lug it around shooting events! What else happened today... Nothing much actually... I find that I'm really excited about getting the stuff I want this year that I keep repeating it... And there are new developments for the four thirds system to be announced this year, as well as the micro four thirds.

I've gotta remind my dear friend Vivian to get the dates for sec 1 orientation camp as well as the CCA recruitment drive and speech day so I can go shoot them.

I also shot a some HDR (High Dynamic Range) and the bottom is one of the best I can do since I'm no master in HDR, gotta read up more on it.

Anyway... I'm still looking for good photography books to add to my "photography shelf" so if anyone has a book they think is good, please do recommend me. Thanks a lot!

Oh ya! One more thing, not too long ago I helped aunt Carol shoot at SP's Moberly and well, the pictures are all, it's a mixture, some are mine, some aunt Carol's and some... er... I have no idea whose are they... But here's the link ==> http://www.facebook.com/notes.php?id=144763272486

Sorry... No idea how to put it as one link so the entire address XD.

I guess that's all for today so good night everyone!!!

1st Day of 2010

Hey guys!

So nothing much happened today. I went to Bukit Mearah Library to return books, deposit and transfer money for my flash and was on computer most of the day downloading. I found some old photos I took during my early photography days and my sister found old films.

Also, I've finally decided and found a new chassis for my new DIY Mac Pro.

Cooler Master Elite 335

Hopefully this along with a good power source and the OEM heat-sink for the Intel quad core processor that will be inside are good enough for ventilation, and since there are 5 HDD slots, I've decided to put in just 3 instead of my initial 4. One for Windows 7, one for Mac OS X 10.6 and 1 as a storage drive to store files to be used between the 2. Backups will be via an external hard disk for both OSs since bascially they have the same thing just different softwares. Just one DVD drive that's all.

I seriously can't wait to build this and get my Macbook white, my Metz flash and get my freaking license and bike! Can't wait to get started on more photography assignments as well...

That's about it for today, I'm pretty tired so ending here. Nothing much happened today anyway. Good night world!

Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010!!!

Hey guys! Another entry for today!

So today I woke up,had breakfast and called Cathay Photo to ask if they have the Olympus VA-1 and they do, yay right? I asked for the price and the price was $360 so I said that that day when I was a the Marina Square branch, the guy there quoted me $320 and well, she was able to give me that price and I went and get it in the afternoon. So here it is, the Olympus VA-1!!!

It's really big and bright but a little hard to see since I'm not used to it. Honestly, if I have the money, I would rather use the waist level finder on medium format cameras but oh well! It really helps in manual focusing, not that I had any troubles to begin with.

I swear this was done with manual focusing, not auto!

My trusty Mamiya M645J!

So after that I came home and basically just watched videos on youtube, mainly Digimon, watched a little TV and eat.

2010 is a pretty big year for me cause it marks the end of my year 1 and start of my year 2 in school. Its the year I turn 21, no longer a teenager but a young adult. Also the year I hopefully get my bike license and bike!

Like I said, many things happening this year. Getting my flash, Macbook in March, my bike! A new desktop which is a DIY Mac Pro whose parts I will be getting bit by bit and building bit by bit. Final would be the most important component I need to boot Mac OS X 10.6.

Tomorrow going down to Bukit Mearah to deposit money and transfer to the guy I'm getting my flash from. Gotta look for the cable model number for the flash which is another type of cable not included with the flash and get a quote for it. That's about it for tomorrow I guess.

School starting on Monday with C++ training which is seriously a drag since my team mates are seriously boring people and I have no idea what they want. Seriously... The first kopi session of the year organized by me and I'm so nervous about it. Hands on on the micro four thirds system with various legacy lenses with their respective adaptors as well as four third lenses. Hope to get my flash on the same day. Than hopefully Saturday or Sunday can get the book I got for Nyiyaz for myself. It's titled "Mastering Filters For Photography: Professional Digital And Optical Techniques" by Chris Weston. Seems like a good filter book and I sure hope it is!

Discussed with my friend Vivian about our photography business as well for this year since this will be the year it really takes off! Anyone needs a photographer to shoot your pictures, events, weddings etc... Feel free to look for me!

Thats all for today! Good night everyone, have a happy and fruitful 2010!
