Nothing much

Hey guys!

So yea... Nothing much happened recently so yea, again I'm here to announce I'm not dead yet. I've been doing quite a lot of stuff and am going to be learning a lot of the next few years I guess. I'm so excited about some stuff which I can't say yet so I shall end here. Good night world!

A few updates

Hey guys!

Its official! Seems like I'll be updating weekly rather than daily :/ A couple of updates... I got my package from the USA! So now I got a pair of 8GB Lexar compact flash cards in my D3, a standard and mini autoloader screw drivers and another wedding photography book! Title is errm... Let me check... Digital Wedding Photography Capturing Beautiful Memories by Glen Johnson!

What else... The office finally has the electronic lock! So now we have to use key cards to access :D Also! Yesterday went to Ubin. The jetty has changed a lot, but other than that, Ubin itself and Changi Village has hardly changed... Shot most of my shots on film but didn't shoot much due to the limitations of the 50mm and 135mm. Left with 8 shots before I can develop the film. I have like 2 in my PEN though... Will upload it tomorrow.

Also! I finally got round to cleaning the Canon PIXMA pro 9000 my bosses gave me! Sadly its still not operational as something somewhere inside is having issue. Gotta wait until we've moved everything which I guess would be tomorrow before I can ask my boss to check for warranty.

Its about a week if I'm not wrong, that I have the Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8G lens couple with the D3 which I have for a little over a month. My thoughts... I'm loving it! I do miss the Olympus E-3 and lenses though but I gotta move on. Colors are good on the D3 though still unlike the E-3. Dynamic range of the FX sensor is amazing! I appreciate one thing about Nikon RAW files... They're easy to process! But sadly... 1 12 megapixel image is like 24 megabytes -.-" as compared to the E-3's 10 megabytes.

I miss the in body IS but so far, I've found myself not in need of the IS other than when shooting with the Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8G last week at the Formula Drift championship! Oh well... Speaking of the drifting championship, here are some pictures!

So yea... Still a lot of getting used to. In my previous post, I mentioned that I was selling my Metz 45 CL-1. I've decided to keep it and work with it despite the weight of the D3. For 3 reasons. 1. I've invested quite a bit in the Metz. 2, no one wants to buy it and 3, I just love the performance of the flash! So yea... Decided to grow some muscles with it, in addition to the ones I've gained from moving office.

I went to the PC show with my boss after the drifting championship and man was it crowded! I saw my secondary school classmate though and it was cool catching up with her! Also, one of my close friend Vivian is attached so congrats to her!

That's about it... I've re-tied my computer chair so that the legs don't split, one of the rafia string snapped so I had to re-tie it. That's pretty much all for the week I guess so good night world!

Quick updates

Hey guys!

A couple of quick updates. Nothing much actually. We've moved to the new office and well... Its been great! Though tiring... And I realize I've actually grown muscles from moving! But its still all under a layer of fat :/

So my camdapter strap and adapter arrived and I've sent it back as it felt weird, so I'm back to using a neck strap tied to my arm if really need. Need to shoot an event to know my taste though... What else...

I'm selling my Metz 45 CL-1 which is saddening but no choice as it doesn't really work well with my Nikon without a handstrap, so I'm going back to hotshoe flash, but at least now I'm using a battery pack, and the SB900 is pretty powerful on its own, so yea :)

So! I finally sold my Nikkor AF 50mm f1.4D lens! And gotten myself the Nikkor AFS 24-70mm f2.8 G lens! Its great on the wide end! Not so much so on the tele end since I'm not quite use to the short tele end.

Mounted on the D3!

So what else... Oh ya! My boss gave me the Canon PIXMA Pro 9000 in the office, but sadly it can't print. It needs to be sent for service :/ So yea... Can't wait for it to be fixed and for me to start printing! Hope it can be done soon... Forgot to transfer the pic and upload so I won't be showing just yet. Not until its fixed :)

So yea... Tomorrow I'm going with my boss to watch the drifting championship! Borrowing Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 VR II from auntie Carol! Hope I can shoot racing though :/ So yea... Till tomorrow then! Good night world! Will share pictures shot at the race! And after I print my photos from the Pro 9000! :D

A few updates

Hey guys!

So yea...Nothing much happened recently. Didn't update recently because my office is packing and moving soon. Almost done, we'll be moving in next week! So excited! But I still gotta come back to the old office to move some stuff over :(

So yea... What else... I PASSED MY CLASS 2B STAGE 2.01!!! Like finally! I remember to signal and check blindspot and I successfully learnt how to force my bike uphill! But I keep having problems with the gearbox that day. For some reason... It kept jumping to neutral and my shoes didn't help with changing gears that day -.-

So yea... Just wanna share a shot I took in the morning before leaving for work. Shot with the 50mm and D3. Can't wait to sell the 50mm for a 24-70. End of June! Early July! WOOHOO!!!

Hope I manage to sell my Olympus FL-50R which I've decided to since I seldom personally shoot with any form of TTL any well, the FL-36R suits me for my E-1 and E-P1. E-1 is slow, so hardly use it for events, don't need a fast recycling flash. E-P1 is compact, fits with the compactness of the FL-36R. Wireless just use radio trigger. Getting a SB900 and might get a couple of SB700s. Used with the rumored Nikon D800, I don't need to have a SB900 as master XD but guess in most cases, I'd still want to have a master on unless really needed.

So yea! I've decided for my Nikon it will be as so:

Cameras
1. Nikon D3 with Camdapter handgrip (Main)
2. Nikon D800 with Camdapter handgrip (Backup when D3 goes for cleaning, repairs or out of commission during a shoot or before a shoot)

Lenses
1. Nikkor 14-24 f2.8
2. Nikkor 24-70 f2.8
3. Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VR II
4. Nikkor 105 or Sigma 150 f2.8 Micro/ Macro

Accessories
1. SB900
2. SB700 (Probably 3)

That's all, along with my current Metz 45 CL1 and my Quantum Turbo battery! Don't think I missed anything out. Anyway, have a good day everyone!
