Hello Hurricane, then Vice Verses

Hey guys,

So today is Friday again, almost the end of the second week of my holidays and recently... Nothing much really happen except personal matters. My iPod classic had jamming problems and I finally got it scanned and repaired by my computer and now it plays without any problem whatsoever.

Selena Gomez released a new single "Round And Round". Personally, its pretty catchy but not my type of song but I'll still listen to it of course. And today I went to ITE College West and I admit, its pretty big... On the outside that is, but on the inside, its considerably smaller than poly. And I met Shanaz for the first time! Quite interesting though... The architecture design of the new ITE College West reminds me much of the architecture design of Lasselle (not sure of the spelling). There's a hotel, restuarants, 7-11 and even a Shop n Save! So much for being a school... Seems more like a shopping center. Air cons are definitely better than ITE Dover and the lifts as well... Facilities for everything, from classroom to labs to sports are so much better...

Speaking of Lasselle, I plan to take a diploma in photography but have yet to decide if I should go to SOTA (School Of The Arts) or NAFA (Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts). Not even sure if SOTA has photography, but assuming if there is, and I qualify for either school, which one should I go to... I have yet to do any research so I shall have to do so.

Recently, I feel a void in my life tat isn't caused by family or friends. I am grateful for the love from friends and my family. People like my "brother" Hong Yao, my dudette Malathi, my sayang Ariyani, my crazy person Justina, my ITE brother Rizal all have special places in my heart and seriously, if they were gone, it'd be very saddening. P.S I know I sound gay but its the truth. But I guess the void is something that only my other half can fulfill. I know that I probably should be happy that I have friends and family and I am, but its just a void that cannot be helped.

I'd like to share a video from my favorite band Switchfoot, titled The Sound (John Perkin's Blues(.

"John M. Perkins is an American civil rights leader. Born in Mississippi to a sharecropper, he grew up in the dire poverty and bitter racism of the time. At the age of 17 his older brother was murdered at the hands of a town marshall, so he fled the state vowing never to return. Yet in 1960 Dr. Perkins and his wife, Vera Mae Perkins, felt compelled to go back to help the poor in rural Mississippi. Since then, Dr. Perkins has written numerous books, lectured across the world and has devoted his life to community development and racial reconciliation throughout the world. Dr. Perkins turns 80 on June 16th....this video is a tribute to his compassionate commitment to love the oppressed and the oppressor. His life is living proof that love does conquer all, including violence and hatred. Love is the final fight." --Jon Foreman, Switchfoot

I honestly do not know much about John M. Perkins. But it is sad that a TOWN MARSHALL, which I believe is somewhat similar to a police man, murder someone. For whatever reason, murder is still wrong. I salute to Dr John M. Perkins for his cause. Fact that racism is real and its a problem. Even within the same race, brothers fight each other to survive. As I've said before, so much for being the smartest creatures on earth, we're not very bright at all.

Recently, I've been listening to the album from Switchfoot, "Hello Hurricane" on my playlist in a loop. This is, in my opinion, the BEST album to date. And its said that their next record is titled "Vice Verses". The song has been played live and its a great song. And I seriously can't wait for another awesome album from Switchfoot.

Title list:
1. Needle and Haystack Life
2. Mess of Me
3. Your Love Is a Song
4. Sound (John M. Perkins' Blues)
5. Enough to Let Me Go
6. Free
7. Hello Hurricane
8. Always
9. Bullet Soul
10. Yet
11. Sing It Out
12. Red Eyes

Beginning with the song "Needle and Haystack Life", to me personally, is talking about living our lives with a goal, no matter how hard it is to achieve or even find it, much like a needle in a haystack, we have to keep on going and nothing is impossible if we do not try hard enough to achieve our dreams.

"Mess Of Me" is a song that talks about most problems that we face each day, "I am my own affliction, I am my own disease" probably refers to the fact that sometime, goals that we want to achieve consists of problems that are made by ourselves, not all but some are created by ourselves, for example, saying that I am unable to be good in something. One has to practice to be better. Sometimes when we do something, we make mistakes that can be pretty bad which makes us want to "reverse this tragedy". When we are faced with problems, often we want to hide from them due to fear or some other reasons, "There ain't no drug to make me well" is kinda like saying that there isn't anything in the world that can help you if you first don't help yourself.

"Your Love Is A Song" it like... How a song is always in your head, always around to be with you, songs can affect they way we think and feel, and when we have someone to love and love someone, nothing seems to tear you apart, love all around a person like music is all around.

"The Sound" I have nothing much to say about this, hahaha.

"Enough to Let Me Go" to me, is about letting your love one go, no matter how hard it may be. that no matter what we have to go through, because we love that person, we have to let them go and make their own choices.

"Free" probably talks about being set free, we're all locked by mine sets created by people, we need to be free to explore ourselves and to lead our lives. Things such as planned marriage by parents in the past may not exist now but someone like that.

"Hello Hurricane" talks about love and living. Nothing, not even a hurricane can tear you down if you're determined enough.

"Always", "Bullet Soul", "Yet", "Sing It Out" and "Red Eyes" are songs I still don't understand. Whatever I've said are the songs are purely what I feel. The songs by Switchfoot have always inspired me, always calm me, reminding me of everything. That is why Swtichfoot is my favorite band.

I'm looking forward to buying a softbox for my Metz 45 CL1 to use, hopefully it works well with my FL 50R and FL 36R. I seriously feel broke and I've gotta save for my trip to Hong Kong in March next year as well as pay off my bills and Macbook. Hopefully I can do it, with freelance jobs here and there adding in.

I did maintenance on Justina's laptop the other day and I was pretty impressed that it wasn't performing too bad compared to the last time I checked it. Good job Justina!

Currently playing the game "Transformers: War for Cybertron". It isn't too bad actually. I've gotta prepare my slides for First Friday @ SAM next Friday, 2nd July 2010. Come join if you can and want to learn more about the micro four thirds. I got my iPod to work with my Macbook for slide control and its pretty cool.

That's all for now. Hope to update more stuff soon. Hope to get new books to read and more assignments to shoot.

Have a good day everyone!
