Sungei Buloh!

Hey guys!

Just a quick update as I'm pretty tired right now. Went to Sungei Buloh with Justina today and because of her Mac cravings, we went to Woodlands though Justina just came from Woodlands when we met at Kranji.

We went in and went shooting with her hoping to see the otters and me hoping to see crocs and snakes. I got half my wish though. We saw this snake, I have yet to identify it, but so far, it seems to be a part of the bronze back snake family.



So once I get more info, I shall post it here. We completed our round and went home. Its not the bird season so not much birds. I shot like... 40 odd? Left with 25 on my way home and only left with a handful at post processing. So yea... It was Justina's first time using a telephoto lens (AKA zoom lens in case you have no idea what the heck I'm talking about) so.... Congrats Justina!

More or less done

Hey guys!

Quick entry before I hit the hay. So during class I submitted my photos for the competition. After school I helped Rizal with his filming for awhile before going down to SP to meet Zheng Yan to borrow his lens, returning back to ITE to meet Rizal and then going back to Food Court 5 at SP to have KFC. After eating, we sat at the school of EEE or I think its EEEEE now, hahaha. We waited for Fizah before heading home.

As I took the train home, the computer shop auntie called me to tell me that Royston's hard disk has been replaced with a 1.5TB hard disk. Lucky him... Oh well... So yea... I went home and continued setting up my DIY Mac and met my dear Aryani and her boyfriend Farid, to pass her my camera to take on a study trip to Australia. She leaving tomorrow so God bless her!

That's pretty much all, currently have a little problem with my DIY Mac which due to habits, its irritating, but no matter... Its running good enough. That's all for tonight. Good night everyone! I will be feeding mosquitoes tomorrow!

Pretty busy day in school

I'm currently in school so quick update. Yesterday was busy in school thinking about some Olympus competition and sleeping in class, hahahah. So yea... After school I went with Rizal to take photos for the competition but I cannot post the photos for you to see now because, well... People might save it, so for now, I shall not post it. I'm very sorry. So yea... I met an interesting stranger...





Cute right! Scared of Rizal at first but not so scared of me, actually... It has a more like "Whatever..." kind of attitude towards me. I finally got my DIY Mac to run properly, now in the midst of installing all my softwares and finally! Olympus Viewer 2 is out! I can now use all 8 art filters from the E-P2! Sadly not the E-PL1 since I like the filters from E-Pl1 more.... Yet anyway... No one knows what the future holds!!! So yea... That's all for now... Updates tonight! Good day to y'all!

Driven nuts

Hey guys!!!

So yea.... Yesterday I was very tired, all thanks to Justina. YES YOU JUSTINA! I KNOW YOU READ THIS! Sometimes... Just kidding, don't be angry and kick my ass. Anyway... So yea... School was pretty boring, I swear that I nearly didn't do anything, except the Star Wars Opening where it goes "STAR WARS! Episode II Attack of the clones" bla bla bla. That was all I did in school! 6 hours of the same freaking lesson! OMG!

So anyway... After school I went down to get my RAM and apparently, I got an entire new piece. So I went home and I got a call from Olympus to go down to sign something to process my pay. So I went there and sign, before chatting with the aunties there. The funny thing was, on the way home from getting my RAM, I passed by Olympus hoping they will call, only to end up reaching home, and getting the call after reading the newspaper just after I got home. When I got to the build, I have forgotten where Olympus is. Oh well... And I some customers left her wallet there with loads of cash, hahaha.

So I went home and insert my RAM and reseat my graphics card. And to install my Mac OS X, I had to do it with my Macbook, again. So yea, after hours of tinkering and look for solutions, I finally slept close to 2am without the computer running properly.

Currently in class now. I'm going home to install Mac on my main hard drive with Windows on it which has been proven to work so I will be running still with 4 hard disks, except 3 data and 1 with 2 OSes. Hopefully I can get a DVI convertor tomorrow so I can free my DVI cable for my Mac Mini and go back to using VGA cable for my Mac Pro.

Been very tired

Hey guys!!!

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. I've been really tired and busy with school work as well. I don't remember what I did over the past few days because basically, nothing much happened. I did a new softbox, it is really ugly but seems to get the job done though. I'm still considering if I should invest in getting an actual softbox though. How often will I use it? It isn't that ex actually, approx USD$40? Rounded off without shipping. If I do use it pretty often, might consider getting it, in the meantime, I will be using DIY as well as a container I found in my room which is very good at softening the light. Down side to it is its very heavy and I can't do anything to it since it ain't mine.

This afternoon, I got a call from the Kingston distributor in Singapore that my RAM, which I sent in along with Rizal's hard disk, my DDR2 RAM as well as my graphics card is ready for collection after telling me it will take about 1 to 3 months... Its good of course, but just surprised. Last friday I called the service center for my Metz flash and apparently, repairs will not be more than $180 and the repairs are halfway done. On the bright side, it can be repaired here rather than being sent to Germany, though they did say they will call me and 2 months later, I had to call them. I wonder when is my pay coming in as well...

I saw what was on my blog about what my mentor told me, that photographers should always be working on aesthetics. And someone commenting that DSLRs have become very mainstream and is like a trend. Which thinking about it. I have to agree. It makes one wonder who really is a photographer.

This coming Saturday, I will be going with Rizal to the Pixar exhibition. Next Saturday will be going to Sungei Buloh with Justina. Hope to see a croc and otters, As well as some big monitor lizards. It will be cool to actually see a croc in the wild.

It seems that May will be a quiet month though. Still waiting for my pay, and supposedly getting my name cards towards the end of the month as well. Pixar exhibition... Other than that, that's pretty much all for my month. Other than finishing my projects and school work of course.

Tomorrow will be going down to Bugis to get a copy of the Snow Leopard DVD as well as collecting my RAM. 6 hours of Multimedia Development class. That's pretty much all I have to say today. So good night everyone!!!

Another few days of updates in one

Hey guys!!!

Currently in school now. Firstly, let me apologize for not updating the past few days. Just that recently I've been busy with my computer and very tired... Anyway, my new computer is up and running with all the parts inside except for the 2GB RAM which will be explained in a bit and another Seagate 250GB hard disk, but it currently has my old Hitachi in its place which I'd probably leave it there. Lets start with Monday.

Monday:
Woke up and went to school as usual, nothing much happened. After school, took a bus to Funan to buy my 2 hard disk, ended up with a 500GB Samsung(Not sure if its good, but can't be worse than Western Digital) and a 250GB Seagate. So I stayed at the shop and chat with the auntie before going home. Got home, installed and boot up, failed again... Tried and tried until I was tired and went to sleep.

Tuesday:
Woke up and went to school. Nothing much happened. After school went home, showered, turn on air con and started taking parts to troubleshoot my new comp and after a long time, I called the auntie and brought down my computer, taking a cab since my new computer is the heaviest computer I've ever touched. Went there, her staff checked for me and turns out to be the same as my initial diagnose which was the RAM was problematic, called my mum to come down and LOAN me cash for the new RAM, took it home and till today, its working fine, a little laggy and needs to be cleaned up. And I dropped my graphics card which made little flickers on the screen which apparently... Took a long time for my sister to see to confirm that it's not me but its the computer.

Wednesday:
Went to school and when school ended, the door was locked due to the magnetic lock and had to wait for awhile. My classmates were extremely noisy and pushy, just pushing me around without saying excuse me. Went home and checked the graphics card again. Turns out its still there so I took the graphics card, my old computer's DDR2 RAM and the problematic DDR3 RAM as well as Rizal's hard disk to the service center opposite Sim Lim Square. Went there, the checked the hard disk, and changed a new one for me. My DDR3 RAM wasn't something, didn't really understand so needs to be sent back to Kingston and will be done in 1 to 3 month's time -_-||

DDR2 RAM was tested to be fine but changed another for me anyway. And my graphics card was a little harder to test. And it took awhile before he saw it, but the funny thing is (warning, if you don't understand, please ignore the following and skip to the next paragraph) my VGA was the one that caused the flicker, and I just told him I tested all even though I didn't cause I was lazy XP. But at the service center, its the DVI that has problem. They changed for me anyway.

I went home and installed the new graphics card and now there isn't any problem. Rizal's hard disk has been changed but drivers still can't be installed. Which I suspect that the case got problem. Gonna test it today with my sister's hard disk.

Been tired

Hey guys!!!

So yea... I haven't blog in a few days because I've been very tired, sorry!!!

I don't remember what I did on Thursday other than school, anyway... Most likely I didn't do much anyway. So yea... On one day, I was taking a bus home and I saw something that was kinda surprising, 2 Fairfield Methodist school girls were riding, on a scooter, without helmets, on the main road. Firstly, HOW IN THE FREAKING DRIVING WORLD CAN 2 GIRLS?! NOT ABOVE 18, DRIVE A SCOOTER IN SINGAPORE?! Without helmets no less...

So on friday... I went to school as per normal, and I learnt something new. Which has nothing to do with what I'm studying now. The laptop that I got at the IT fair 2 months ago, the white one with the Apple logo, is not a Macbook but a iMac. WOW! After school, Rizal and I went to cafe at ITE HQ and had chicken chop! After that, we went to SP to wait for Rizal's gf before going home. I took a quick shower, played Call Of Duty 6 for a short while before going off to meet everyone at Lot 1. Finally got to meet Nyiyaz! And there were only Rizal, his girlfriend, Zana, Nyiyaz and I there because Naaz went to meet her boyfriend, Yusuf is MIA and Madinah has attachment. After Nyiyaz left for school to do filming for project, we all went with Zana to shop while waiting for Madinah.

When Madinah came, we went up to Shaw to get tickets and from nobody to lots of bodys. The dumb thing is, 2 counters, 1 for collection 1 for sales and it was very slow. Nevertheless, we managed to get the 7pm show for....

IRON MAN 2!!!


It was a great movie! It basically summarizes the depression period faced by Tony Stark and later saving the people again. It was funny as well. After the movie we left for home.

On Saturday... I didn't do much and I met Ben to pass him my lens since he needed to use it.

Recently... I've been sleeping early because I feel tired. I have no idea why. I can't wait to get my DIY Mac up and running the way I wanted. And Ben 10 Ultimate Alien episode 2, wasn't as good as the first episode but still cool. And funny when Rath went "helloooo?" hahaha. And Ben split into 3, it was cool when Ben transformed into Big Chill, Upchuck and Canonbolt. Sadly... The side effects were Ben seem to have split personalities and he is unable to coordinate among his 3 alien forms.

That's all for today since I didn't do much today as well... This coming week, I'm most likely gonna get the Snow Leopard DVD and probably the storage hard disk which is the Hitachi 500GB. Have a good day everyone!
